Many celebrities, scientists and professors support the fact that a veggie diet can help preserve our environment and resources. For example a veggie diet can literally end world hunger while preventing deforestation; soil degradation; oceanic dead zones; air and water pollution and mitigate climate change. Please visit the global meat free movement website. Your vote can help preserve our planet.

Thanks for compiling this website. I’ve long wondered why meat eating is often not addressed or included in discussions by environmentalists. I was thinking of doing a letter writing campaign to urge environmental groups to include this important topic in their discussion.
Here’s a link to another supporter of eating less meat. The author, Raj Patel, wrote the book “Stuffed & Starved: The Hidden Battle for the World Food System” which talks about the problems with the current Global Food System. In his book and also on his blog, he does touch upon the problems associated with raising livestock.

Hi, Ali here from Veg Climate Alliance. The petition is a great idea, can we join forces and host it on the Alliance website?
Google has a great facility to create a petition and have it embedded anywhere. For example, see http://veg4earth.org
Cheers
Hi Ali, I’d be happy to join forces, we need all the help we can get
Thanks for the embed idea! I’ll be in touch soon.

Finally! Environmentalists are beginning to connect the impact of animal agricultur and willing to reduce/eliminate animal products! Hooray… I was growing weary of the old change your lightbulb solution. Thanks much!
Go Vegan.
Hi Mike
I’ve got a friend here in Brisbane who has been active in lobbying climate groups to include the veg option (and meat reductions etc) in their policy. She’s agreed to provide a draft of a petition text which should be good as her recent activity with environmental group will have taught her alot about communicating the message.
Get back to you soon.
keep up the good work. It is really hard to convince people though!! E Risi
